Union members marched around Sutter Headquarters with signs and chants critical of Angelica Textile Services and of Sutter Hospitals for contracting laundry service to a company with so many OSHA and labor infractions.

"We are in the struggle!" Chris Bender, SEIU Local 1000 (state workers).

"Que viva la huelga!" In March, worker representatives from Angelica plants throughout the U.S. met with Angelica workers in Southern California to formulate a strategy for improving working conditions. Strikes have been authorized in New York and Texas, and Northern California contracts expire at the end of April. Workers were asked to pledge to honor picket lines and not go to work if a strike is called in an Angelica plant. Almost 70% of workers signed the pledge.

May 5 is the deadline for a strike if Angelica continues to violate safety and labor rights.
