sit-down in front of the building at 12th and K Street. "We shall
not be moved" was sung in Spanish, and in fact, we did not move
"until a time of our own choosing" and do not plan to move
from supporting the janitors until family healthcare is part of their

1877 staffer Samuel Rodriguez announcing a continuing round of demonstrations
until family healthcare is achieved in the contract. |

When
Woods and I missed our bus, Marie (center) stopped and offered us
a ride to the demonstration. Though we speak little Spanish and she
speaks little English, out mutual good intentions enabled us to communicate
well enough for us reach our destination at the Senator Hotel Building.
It is greatly hoped that Sacramento's building owners and cleaning
contractors will find the good intentions to give family healthcare
to these hardworking janitors. They deserve it. |
