"I’m looking out at this sea of signs, and I see one important message coming through loud and clear. THIS IS ABOUT CALIFORNIA!

We work for the state of California because we care about people.
We are nurses, we are employment program reps, we reach out to kids in CYA, we face the public every day in places like DMV, and on the Bay Area bridges. We keep our state buildings looking good for people and we protect the environment. We do this because we care, and we are not going to let these services that we produce be destroyed by the Governor and his special interest friends!
We’re saying to the Governor—California is our special interest. What’s yours?"

Jim Hard (Employment Program Representative, EDD) President, SEIU Local 1000.
