On
the logo for Local 767, it says "Painters and Allied Trades."
It's kind of nice to think of everyone as "allied trades."
If we did, it could really change the way things work. |

Two
union persons from West Sacramento who signed Local 250 postcards
in support of the Cottonwood Health Center workers. There were a lot
of people from West Sacramento at this picnic, including the mayor
and several persons running for city council. And then they have that
ballot measure about the port of West Sacramento...... |

I
lobbied heavily for this photo not to here, but I lost, so I will
use this space to thank Mary (Zeppa) Gale for loaning me this hat
when it appeared that I would be burnt to a crisp by the sun. Mary
and Manny Gale are two people that I see every year (well, both of
the years) at this event, and their participation in both political
action and the arts is very swell! |

Another

I
am not sure if this young person is getting in the last bite or what....It
could be that not everyone wants their picture taken, an entirely
understandable viewpoint. |

Jim Hard (SEIU Local 1000) and Morgan Gay (organizer, SEIU local
250). Walking behind them is a woman who is running for city council
in West Sacramento and who, based on a brief conversation, appears
to be an excellent person earnestly working to improve the world.
I guess you could say that of everyone in this picture, so I will.
